Dear Columbia Public School Teachers:
Besides parents, who has the greatest opportunity to shape future generations? Teachers! That’s why you are truly “Sweeter than Honey!”
My seasoned sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Hilderdick, frequently communicated a vision that one of her students might become president of the United States. Although we have yet to attain the dream, we all learned, when it comes to a career path, aim high!
The teaching profession, not unlike others, has its unique ups and downs. But, on behalf of parents, our community, and your friends at Open Door Church, we thank you for educating, equipping, and inspiring over 17,000 students yearly to achieve their highest potential. It is no coincidence that the noblest title ascribed to Jesus on earth was . . . Teacher.
We plan to join other faith communities across the country for a special Teacher Appreciation Service on May 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. In addition to honoring you, we will learn more about how a simple teacher transformed the world.
Open Door is located on Highway 63 South, across from KOMU TV-8 and here on the web at www.opendoorways.org .
Again, thanks for caring enough to share your life with our kids!
Gratefully Yours:
Pastor Phil and Your Friends at Open Door
